First Class Panda visits the lake!
This weekend I had a really nice treat with one of my best friends coming to visit me over an hour from her home. This is her and her husband as we stroll slowly along sipping sangria and miller lite. And eating lots and lots of food. They got to meet the people I spend most of my time with now that I am out of the city, including my little buddy Maggie who was kind enough to show us her thousands of Silly Bandz! She was nice enough to give me one shaped in a hamburger. Awesomeness.
I think they had a really nice time and I hope they come back soon! I should have taken more incriminating pictures after 10 miller lites went down, but I'm pretty bad with remembering to get the camera out. Here is Abe's paris hilton pose.
And tomorrow I am off to the sweltering hot city of New York for a check up....I'll have a full report Wednesday!

Soak it Off
Today finally I got the new OPI soak off nail gel done. I've been wanting to do it for weeks! In theory this is the most perfect product for me because I have really nice nails on my own and I do not want fake nails ever, but when I just get a regular manicure it starts to chip in days, but my friends with fake nails keep their nails in great condition for weeks and I envy that! Finally, this product is basically like fake nails without the fake nails. The process involved a lot of layers of gel, and a lot of UV lighting, but if it lasts the 2-3 weeks without chipping I will be a happy camper. I am going to keep you all posted on how long it lasts for. And it came in a lot more colors than I thought it would. I got a nice bright pink. But you can also get just a regular french manicure which would be really nice too if it lasts 3 weeks!
We'll see....
We'll see....

For myself
I am writing this post basically to myself. I want to remind myself how hard it is to breathe today, and how short of breathe I am and how crappy I feel and how much I hate it and how much I can't wait to just breathe and be normal and do everyday things again. I want to be able to read this when I am up at night scared of having another transplant, scared of the process, scared of the waiting, the unbearable pain, and everything else. I just need to remind myself how hard today is because it makes it harder to be scared.

What would you do?
A friend asked this question to a table of people today, "if you could flick a switch and do anything you wanted, and be asured you would make the same salary you make now, what would you do?"
I said I would move to Napa and own a winery. This is the ultimate dream to me. I have others, it might be just as good to be a writer and be able to travel the world, or even just live in Napa a few months out of the year, or live in Italy a few months out of the year, but these are things that are close to my ideal life: Napa, Italy, Wine, Writing, Good Food.
What about you?

Spice Makeover
I have an obsession with packaging. You could put crap in a nice pretty package and I'd be the moron that bought it. I like when things are shiny and pretty and look nice. I decided to remodel my large collection of spices. I bought these nice pretty tins at Specialty Bottle and transferred all of my spices into them. I then took my label maker and wrote on them what they were. And Viola.

All Things Sparkly
You guys know I love things that sparkle! And I've always had a thing for chandeliers. I envision the types I will eventually have one day in my perfect dream home. And when I think of owning a little boutique/bead store one day it's always designed around the perfect chandelier. Something modern, but has that antique charm to it, maybe with a splash on color. Well ladies (and maybe some gents) today on One King's Lane (a home decor discount store website) they were selling chandeliers! And they had a lot of really crazy ones that I wanted so badly, but they were uber expensive even at 50% off, but there was one calling my name that was in my price range and I thought, it was such a deal, I had to have it, even if I never opened the little store I have circling in my head I would find something to eventually do with it. But maybe when I get better and am breathing again this will be my motivating factor to really go forward...

awesome things
I took a bead class yesterday at a bead store in Brookline called Abielle, and they had these beeswax blend candles with a marvelous scent. They are made by a company called Paddywax and if you enjoy candles I recommend you find these. I opted for a tiny little travel tin (that you see below), but I will have to try out their other lines and more decorative candles - especially the Eco Line, cucumber and mint anyone? But the smell and the almost creamy texture of the candle is pure luxury.
