Happy Friday
How cute is this little guy? My lungs have had a rough week this week...sometimes it is just like that. But we are hanging in there!

You know I love the sparkles
These are a new shoe from J.Crew and I am pretty certain they made them just for me.
I showed this picture to my friend
Laurie: They should just call those Natashas
Me: I KNOW! OMG! Can you tell them this?

A check up week...
Yesterday I had my usual once a month check up and all things are staying stable. I have a sinus infection, boo, which I am on antibiotics for but other than that no real news. Just more waiting. And more waiting...I suppose no news is good news.
I did stop and get my nails done on the way there, which is a nice little treat that I try to do every time I go for a check up (as well as a nice dinner out on the way back, is usually the ritual.)

Local 149
A few weeks ago I got to try a new restaurant in Southie that I've wanted to try for awhile called Local 149. I had read a lot of good reviews and I thought from pictures the atmosphere looked cool. The outside is very cool looking and it looked like the surrounding area was being revitalized:
The atmosphere inside is very cool and hip. We ordered drinks right away and our waitress was very friendly. Laura and I ordered peach sangria which was delish, and Becca got a watermelon beer. We were pretty excited about the "bar snacks" and ordered fried pickles and fried cheese, both were really great
I ordered a crab cake for my entree (I am sort of a crab cake expert if I must say.) I was pretty excited about it, but I must say it lacked flavor, like any flavor at all and this is where I say (and I can because my mom was a restauranter and I'm not just being snobby here) chefs need to taste their cooking before they send it out! You can't just assume it's good. So that was a big let down. Laura had brisket and Becca had tuna, neither were jumping up and down about it, but some things were good enough that I think we would give it another chance. I hope the flavors get a little better and they are a success in an area that is craving new food choices.
Then I took the girls over to Castle Island for some ice cream and I think we were highly entertained.
Speaking of food and life I have a thoughtful read for you guys

Bling Nails
I can't find them online for you yet but these are new bling nail stickers from Sephora that I've been wanting for two weeks! Well Laura being the awesome friend she is, sent me these in the mail since she has access to a Sephora every day (lucky lucky girl.) and I applied them last night. They went on so easily and are sticking so well! Check them out. I am obsessed!

The G Word
I don't ever really talk about religion or God or spiritual stuff, in fact I probably never have on this blog. But nonetheless I have a really strong belief in God and it's probably important to note that. I wouldn't still be here if I didn't have that faith in life. I know some people ask me how that is possible, having CF, a transplant, needing another, losing my mom....how can I possibly believe there is a God when I've had to live through all that, and I can't really tell you that there is any secret, I just do. In fact a friend of mine gave me a chain with a cross on it recently and the reason for giving it was that (she) saw me once pick up a cross from the ground in a parking lot and keep it so (she) wanted to give me my own.
Well, this picture today really struck me. I'm sure a lot of you have heard about the little eleven year old boy that was stuck under a rip current for 20 minutes and survived. Well these are his friends praying for him while they were searching for him and this picture just really moved me a lot today. I don't push God or religion on anyone -- to each their own, I make no judgments, but I hope this picture touches you guys too.

A new week...
Last week did not start out well, so here is hoping this week is better. Here is my story: On Monday of last week I ended up in the ER. I had had severe (And I Mean Severe) abdominal pain all weekend. Monday morning I got a hold of my doctor and she said What Are You Thinking!? Go To The ER! I had been avoiding the ER all weekend...But I went. I couldn't take the pain anymore anyway. They did a CT scan right away, and gave me a nice hit of narcotics, phew, and I was diagnosed with an intestinal obstruction/blockage. I mean it's nothing exciting, but it was nothing to sneeze at either! So you know what comes next...I was transported via ambulance down to the bosses: aka my transplant hospital. And I was there for a week getting lots and lots of IVs to get the blockage moving and lots and lot of pain medication to keep me sane, and we were able to avoid surgery! Hurray!
